Are the Conditions Right for Conception?
Most of the lubricants currently on the market have been shown to kill or significantly impede the movement of sperm – making conception far less likely. Fortunately, there are lubricants now on the market that are scientifically designed to match fertile cervical liquid and semen, creating a conception friendly environment.

Developing Baby's Fine Motor Skills
Fine motor skills are those movements involving fingers, hands and wrists, and helping babies learn to hone those skills can be both simple and lots of fun for baby and parent. Here are some ideas for helping your baby develope these very important development skills.

Pregnancy Weight Gain Recommendations
Pregnant women often feel liberated by the idea that this is the one time in life when they can eat, really eat, for a purpose. However, almost half of all expectant mothers gain more than the recommended amount of weight. How much is too much? And does it really matter what you eat as long as you gain the right amount of weight for the pregnancy?

Inside Pregnancy Week 19

You're 19 Weeks Pregnant!!!

It is now 18 weeks from your last menstrual period Your baby is now at 16 weeks gestation and is almost 5 1/2 inches long from crown to rump (7 inches from head to toe). A cheesy coating called vernix is beginning to form on your baby to protect his skin from the amniotic fluid. Your baby's body growth is now catching up to his or her head. Believe it or not, if your baby is a girl, early ovaries contain early follicles with early eggs.

Advice for Mom
Many women have trouble sleeping at night about now. If you have any good relaxation techniques, please share them with other moms. Even if you were very athletic before your pregnancy, you should avoid activities such as jogging, water-skiing, diving, downhill skiing, bicycling, and contact sports. A nice brisk walk is a better choice now. Talk to your doctor about other options. Exercising during pregnancy can do you alot of good. It can help relieve backaches, prevent constipation and varicose veins. Be sure to talk to your doctor about it -- for some women exercise is a big no no during their pregnancies.

Talk about growing pains! I can now feel the baby moving, and that is the greatest feeling in the world. Everything from my breasts to my feet seem to be growing too. Any moms out there have any suggestions for leg cramps?
