Month 9

Now that your baby has discovered how to stand, and maybe even cruise, in the last month or so, he will likely take this time to perfect his new skills.

Your baby may also: Pull himself up from sitting to standing Get into a sitting position from his stomach Stand while holding on to someone or something Wave bye-bye Play pat-a-cake

Some babies may even be: Drinking from a cup Standing alone well Say words other than ma-ma or da-da

His language skills are also developing rapidly. He's listening and taking in everything he hears. It's amazing what they understand at this age, too. Encourage him by talking to him as you would any other person. Your baby will likely start taking an active interest in conversations, even if not directed at him. Soon, he will start to shout for your attention! A more distinct personality will start to shine through now, too.

Tiffany from New York Writes [12/18/2008 08:55]
My baby just turned 7 months and well its true all babies are different. My daughter Has been crawling since she was at the end of 5 months also sitting up then going into a crawling position, back into a sitting position. When she was about 6 1/2 months she out of the blue one day stood up in her crib then the next day used the couch and me to stand up. She is now 7 months and can do all that and more like she stands up unsupported for about 5-10 sec. before she falls down. Also she will eat just about anything and grabs it on her own like gerber puffs.Alot of people think my daughter might be advanced because she so intelligent and since 5 months has been saying mama and dada. She does anything that a 9-12 month old does.So I think that by encouraging your child to do things and playing with them all the time will help them reach their milestones early or extremely early like my daughter. But they do what they want when they want, just let them take there time. They will get there Good Luck

Are the Conditions Right for Conception?
Most of the lubricants currently on the market have been shown to kill or significantly impede the movement of sperm – making conception far less likely. Fortunately, there are lubricants now on the market that are scientifically designed to match fertile cervical liquid and semen, creating a conception friendly environment.

Developing Baby's Fine Motor Skills
Fine motor skills are those movements involving fingers, hands and wrists, and helping babies learn to hone those skills can be both simple and lots of fun for baby and parent. Here are some ideas for helping your baby develope these very important development skills.

Pregnancy Weight Gain Recommendations
Pregnant women often feel liberated by the idea that this is the one time in life when they can eat, really eat, for a purpose. However, almost half of all expectant mothers gain more than the recommended amount of weight. How much is too much? And does it really matter what you eat as long as you gain the right amount of weight for the pregnancy?
