Month 8

Your baby may start to protest if you leave him too long, thanks to the onset of separation anxiety. This is the time when your baby may start to show extreme attachment to you, and a dislike for others.

Your baby may also: Protest when you take a toy or other object away Feed himself a cracker Get into a sitting position from his stomach Pick up a tiny object with his thumb and forefingerUnderstand (but not always obey!) the word "no" Crawl

Babies develop at such different rates in the first year. Just because your baby isn't doing some of the things mentioned here, it doesn't mean he is 'slow', just as a baby that has been doing these things for a while is not necessarily 'advanced'.

With a baby in the house, it's often hard to find time for yourself, or your relationship with your partner. It is important to make time for yourself and each other. A happy home makes for a happier baby too.

well i think its true. if my 8 mon. old baby cant see me he starts going ballistic.he yells and cries. if someone wants to pick him up he wont go with them he would look for me and want me to get him. i have seen that he sits up by himself.

Are the Conditions Right for Conception?
Most of the lubricants currently on the market have been shown to kill or significantly impede the movement of sperm – making conception far less likely. Fortunately, there are lubricants now on the market that are scientifically designed to match fertile cervical liquid and semen, creating a conception friendly environment.

Developing Baby's Fine Motor Skills
Fine motor skills are those movements involving fingers, hands and wrists, and helping babies learn to hone those skills can be both simple and lots of fun for baby and parent. Here are some ideas for helping your baby develope these very important development skills.

Pregnancy Weight Gain Recommendations
Pregnant women often feel liberated by the idea that this is the one time in life when they can eat, really eat, for a purpose. However, almost half of all expectant mothers gain more than the recommended amount of weight. How much is too much? And does it really matter what you eat as long as you gain the right amount of weight for the pregnancy?
