Many babies are babbling up a storm now. There is no point in trying to identify those first words, though. His expressive, fluent, and varied jargon is assurance that he will talk in 'real words' when he's ready. Even if your baby doesn't talk much, he can probably communicate his wishes well through pointing and grunting.

Your baby may also: Drink from a cup Stand alone well Say words other than ma-ma or da-da Play peek-a-boo Indicate wants and needs in ways other than crying

Many parents also expand their baby's diet now by including:
BagelsUnsalted soda crackers Orange and tomato juices Small pieces of peeled, soft fruit Cottage cheese Yogurt Ground or finely chopped meats Egg yolk

Your baby's first birthday is fast approaching. Many parents plan for the occasion for months, while others just have a small celebration with little advance preparation. What will you do?

I am very excited about my daughters first birthday. I have already started planning the guest list, food, and games for all the other children that are coming. I am sure that she will have the best time.

Are the Conditions Right for Conception?
Most of the lubricants currently on the market have been shown to kill or significantly impede the movement of sperm – making conception far less likely. Fortunately, there are lubricants now on the market that are scientifically designed to match fertile cervical liquid and semen, creating a conception friendly environment.

Developing Baby's Fine Motor Skills
Fine motor skills are those movements involving fingers, hands and wrists, and helping babies learn to hone those skills can be both simple and lots of fun for baby and parent. Here are some ideas for helping your baby develope these very important development skills.

Pregnancy Weight Gain Recommendations
Pregnant women often feel liberated by the idea that this is the one time in life when they can eat, really eat, for a purpose. However, almost half of all expectant mothers gain more than the recommended amount of weight. How much is too much? And does it really matter what you eat as long as you gain the right amount of weight for the pregnancy?
